Tis the season to be thankful...

and I am so thankful for the opportunity to document your lives with my camera. I think you will agree that your portraits will only become more valuable as the years go by. I hope many years from now, when you look at your photographs, you will remember me...and smile.

This was such a special session. I knew from our first contact we would have fun. What a happy, pretty girl. Her eyes smile. I love her curly hair! She holds herself so beautifully. Her mom is great...she really appreciates what I do (and everyone likes to be appreciated!) And don't you just love good old black and white?

A beautiful time of year...

and a beautiful girl! What a fabulous session! Mom was with us and so good to work with.
We could not have timed this session any better. We had absolutely perfect weather on this fall day in High Point NC.

Super baby

What beautiful, soft baby skin. Sweet, curious, bright baby eyes. Peaceful baby sleep. Innocence. Love.

Great eyes and a great sense of humor...

What more could a photographer possibly ask for? This guy was great.

I am still photographing high school seniors and it's almost November! I love it! Oh and the fall colors....ahhhh....I love it!

I wonder...

If she realizes how beautiful she is?

One of the reasons I enjoy photographing high school seniors so much is because I hope I can show the girls just how pretty they really are. Teenage girls are so hard on themselves. Self esteem usually isn't at an all time high. Everyone has flaws...even the models you see in magazines. Have you seen the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty website? There are a couple of good videos on the website that illustrate a little of what goes into the beautiful photographs you see in advertisements.

Girls you are beautiful! Have confidence in yourself.

Arts on Main

I am so excited to have several of my prints on display at the Arts on Main Jazz Club this week. When the High Point Area Arts Council invited me to hang some of my work at their Jazz Club, I envisioned a dark, smoky, bar kind of place. I was so wrong, the gallery/jazz club is gorgeous and I am proud to be a part of it! It is located on the first floor of the same building as the Arts Council offices, the old (and beautiful!) Enterprise Building at 305 N Main St. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the building. Come support the Arts Council. What a fun way to spend a fall evening. Great music and beautiful art in downtown High Point.

Last week was a very busy week. In addition to my normal duties, I did a 3 hour (yes, three hours!) presentation to second year photography students at Randolph Community College. I spoke to the students about starting and building my portrait photography business. I must admit I was a little nervous but it went very well. Luckily, I was speaking about a subject I feel passionate about.

And believe it or not it's October and I am still photographing high school seniors. It's a great time of year to for outdoor portraits....actually it is perfect!! Stay tuned I will be posting highlights from their sessions very soon.
